So since the last staff blog a lot has happened including the launch of OP Factions and Classic Factions, these launches went awesomely and we didn't expect such a good response! The jump in players has been fantastic to see and we hope you're all enjoying yourselves. This increase in players comes with its downsides, including more hackers and a busy busy chat! We've taken steps to alleviate this by making changes to how the staff team functions. You can read about that here. But that leads me onto my next point... Staff Applications Staff Applications are OPEN! This won't be news to those of you that have played for a while, as they're always open. But for the new players or those that might've not known, we have applications for helper and we're in need of more staff so if you're interested and feel you could do the job then feel free to apply here. Airdrops If you've been online during an Airdrop you'll have a brief idea already what these are but an Airdrop is basically a PvP event that allows you to win awesome loot and faction points to help you climb your way to /f top! The Airdrops are located within 300 blocks of spawn. Once an Airdrop is triggered the chests are 'locked' for 10 minutes, and then they open. The chests is where you win the loot and faction points so you and your faction have to work to try and secure the Airdrop. We have a schedule for the Airdrops now: Saturdays: 7pm UK time for Classic Factions and 8pm UK time for OP Factions Sundays: 7pm UK time for OP Factions and 8pm UK time for Classic Factions New YouTubers! I'll keep it brief because there was an announcement, but we have 2 new YouTubers recording on OP Factions. Generzon and Char, you can read about that here. Updates to Gamemodes Not much going on here because we've been focused on the Classic Factions and OP Factions launches buuuuut: - We've made adjustments to kits on KitPvP to try striking a better balance as well as fixing a few bugs - KitPvP will soon be moving to the 1.8 version of Minecraft - Increased the ocean size and added ice spike biomes to SMP so when the mining world resets next you should be able to find them easier! - We're also disabling fancy trees on SMP so that saplings act as they do in default Minecraft. - Both Factions servers have a combat logger plugin that spawns a villager that can be killed if you don't /logout - you can read more in the specifications thread here. - We had issues with the player cap and claim cap per faction which is now resolved. - Other minor adjustments not worth finding to note down... Staff Changes We've introduced several new staff, an old mod has returned and some have resigned since the last staff blog. Unfortunately Holly is away at the moment so I don't have the names to hand but if you see any new names in chat please do say hello and make them feel welcome!
