Factions Specific Rules
These rules apply specifically to Factions on the Skycade server.
These rules are written out to have as much clarity as possible.
Global rules can be found [Here]

  • No F Fly Abuse
F Fly is only to be used for moving around your faction base, cannon, or traps. Chasing a player outside of your claims, flying to a cannon, or pvp advantages are not allowed. This is considered a Bug Abuse ban.

  • No Insiding
Insiding is defined as raiding a faction or ally that you are/have been part of, using homes set while part of the faction. Any player knowingly benefiting from insiding will also be punished.

Any teleport into a base from a “random” player is also not allowed. It must be clearly known how the home or teleport was obtained. If the home or teleport was obtained through glitching, insiding, or similar then your faction will be punished. Every effort must be made to ensure the teleport is legit. “We didn’t know” is not an acceptable excuse when caught if no obvious effort has been made to ensure the legitimacy of the teleport. Your safest bet is to not accept raids from strangers unless you can see they’ve cannoned inside the base they’re allowing you to raid. The burden of proof is on the raiding party to ensure their raid is legitimate.

The insiding player will be given an Insiding punishment, and the benefiting faction will be given 2 Strikes.

  • No Claim Camping
Do not repeatedly or purposefully go into faction claims for an excessive period of time to prevent them from being able to fly. You should only ever be in enemy claims to PvP, raid, download schematic, or build a cannon. Being fully geared for a fight and in enemy claims is allowed. Staff must warn players to leave claims first, if this warning is ignored then a Factions Rule Violation punishment will be issued.

  • No B*tch Claiming During Grace
B*tch claiming is the act of using your factions claims to purposely block the expansion of another faction’s base. You must give factions room to build their base, so ensure your claim is at least 50 chunks away from someone else’s if they’ve already started to claim / build. Anyone caught B*tch claiming may be punished and their claims will be removed. If building a cannon, you must leave 1 chunk of unclaimed land between the base and your cannon raid claim. Cannon boxes are not allowed during grace period, as TNT is disabled. It is not allowed to make a base immediately against another faction. There must be at minimum 50 chunks of unclaimed land between the faction claims of completed bases. These "complete bases" generally pertain to bases with full sets of walls, small skybases or similar are not an issue here.

Example: If Faction A reaches the corner first and claims the surrounding 3 chunks, Faction B (knowing that Faction A has claims there and intends to build a base there) cannot claim immediately next to their 3 chunk claim because it is abundantly clear that Faction A wishes to make a base there.

The first time a b*tch claim is reported, the chunk will be unclaimed with no punishment. If the person continues to b*tch claim, they will be banned for Factions Rule Violation. Claims only become b*tch claims after they are reported by the faction being b*tch claimed.

  • Only Own One Corner
Factions may only own one corner. Holding a claim to sell or hold is not allowed. After the first 2 hours of SOTW, owning more than one corner either as one faction or storing corners on alt accounts/ factions is illegal. The faction will receive a warning to remove one corner claim, and then issued a Factions Rule Violation punishment for the person who claimed.

  • No Alt Claiming or Sister Factions
A “sister faction” is a faction whose sole purpose is to boost another faction, be it on f top, money or events. Each faction must act independently of each other. This means that each faction should have a base of its own, and must act in a way that boosts its own interests over others - so we expect to see every faction grinding to get spawners for themselves, supplying themselves with gear and fighting to win events for themselves if they attend. Two factions can never share a base nor can they share walls of a base. Each faction must have an independent base, at least 20 chunks of unclaimed land between claims.

The reason for this is because we have player limits per faction, so a “sister faction” that exists purely to boost the main faction bypasses the player limit as well as other limits such as the claiming limit is not allowed.

Alt claiming is the act of having a Minecraft account that isn’t your main account (an alt account) in a faction different to your main account, and that faction claiming land. This bypasses the claiming limit imposed on factions and is strictly not allowed. Your alt should only ever be in your faction, which is why we have /f alt - to allow alts to join factions without taking up valuable slots for real people. Both factions that are part of any form of boosting deal or system will receive 2 Strikes.

If two factions plan to merge, their combine F Top value must not significantly change. Intentionally merging factions to guarantee a higher F Top placement is not allowed, and the offending faction will receive 1 Strike.

  • No Direct Allies
Season 17 of factions removed Allies and added Truces. Truced factions are purely for being "friendly", meaning not targeting in PvP or not raiding one another's bases. Sharing of value or materials between two factions is not allowed. Truced factions must not directly team while in combat, events, defending, or raiding. A truce is only to allow peace between factions as each seeks their own progression. Actively allying or teaming with any faction is not allowed. Ignoring truced faction members in arena or similar is allowed. Working with a truced faction during a raid, during events, or similar is not allowed. "Ping-ponging", defined below, is not allowed. Both factions will be issued 1 Strike.

The act of cooperatively raiding a single faction by alternating who is attempting that faction. Equally, consistently targeting a faction who is currently attempting a truced faction.

  • No Illegal Bots
The only bots a faction is allowed to use are Faction bots (F-top notifiers, rotates, deposits, etc), AFK bots, sand bots (for printing sand), and bots for pushing buttons or levers. All other forms of automation with bot accounts is not allowed, and a Factions Rule Violation will be issued to the bot and owner of the bot. If the owner of the bot cannot be determined or admitted, the faction's Leader is banned instead. The offending faction will receive 1 Strike.

All accounts may not AFK within 8 chunks of the outermost wall of the base,. This is to prevent raid alerts/ detectors. Any vaults/ farms/ rooms made within this 8 chunk region may be world edited out by an Admin should they have reason to believe they are for the purpose of raid/ tnt detection / afking. Players afk’ing can be e-kicked by staff, repeated offences will result in a Factions Rule Violation punishment.
  • No VPN Evaders
While obviously tough to moderate, all factions must not invite players into their faction that are ban evading or VPN evading. High level factions will be checked by admins to ensure there isn’t someone who shouldn’t be there. It is your responsibility to ensure the people you’re inviting to your faction are players that are allowed to be playing (players you’ve seen on for weeks / months, players you can talk to in discord, etc). Once again, “We didn’t know” is not an acceptable excuse for having a VPN evader in your faction. Offending factions will be issued 2 Strikes and the member who invited the evader will be issued a Permanent "Evading Accomplice" punishment.

  • No Inappropriate Faction Names or Titles
Anything you’re not allowed to say in chat cannot be in a faction name or player title. The person setting the inappropriate name or title will be punished, as we have a logging system to view who sets it. The player responsible for setting the title will be issued an Inappropriate Faction Name/Title punishment. Factions with inappropriate faction names will be automatically disbanded if nobody is online to actively change the name.

  • No Duplication of Items or Similar
While duping is disallowed in the general rules thread, an extension to this rule is added to Factions. Any faction caught duplicating or abusing any bug to gain items, money, or similar in an unintended fashion without reporting will have their faction Disbanded and All Spawner Value Removed. Offending players will receive Permanent Bug Abuse punishments as usual.

Repeated instances of these types of behavior from person(s) in a particular faction may result in factions being disbanded or disqualified from winning f top prizes by a member of management.

Base Defenses

  • No Unraidable Bases
Any base that is considered unraidable is not allowed. Anyone caught using blocks or strategies that makes their base impossible to raid will have their base edited by an Admin so that players can cannon the walls. The leader of the faction will be issued a Bug Abuse punishment and the faction will receive 2 Strikes.

  • No Illegal Walls
A base cannot have more than 25 chunks of walls from the base of the main box. The max amount of walls with this design is 200 on one side. A base is allowed one regular single regen wall surrounding it. Extra or illegal walls will be edited out, and the offending faction will be issued 1 Strike.

All lava shown in the photo can be fully source blocked.

Counter-Cannons that are built into the walls of bases are allowed. Only one counter cannon may be shot at a time if several are built into the walls of a base.

Lava-water walls are not allowed. These are walls that alternate between lava, cobblestone, and water in a repeating fashion. The rule of thumb is not to use lava in your wall defences other than in your regen layers. Any block that is not a full block or slab is not allowed in base defenses or patching. Offending factions will be issued 1 Strike.

  • Slime Blocks
  • Signs
  • Fences
  • Brewing Stands
  • Enchant Tables
  • Soul Sand
  • Iron Bars
  • Etc.
If you want confirmation your walls or blocks used are legal, ask an Admin to confirm.

You're also not allowed to claim for example 20 chunks for base walls in a row, then leave a gap, then claim 10 more chunks for walls. That bypasses the claim cap and is not allowed. Your base claims must all be connected, with no intentional gaps.

Cannon boxes are not allowed to have regen walls, and have a maximum of 20 regular walls. Walls must be regular obsidian/ cobble and sand walls Offending factions will be issued 1 Strike.

  • No Illegal Patching Methods
Repairing walls by hand is allowed. Using any GenBucket, schematic, or printer to repair walls while being raided is considered a Bug Abuse ban. Any block that is not allowed in the wall defenses above is also not allowed for patching. Illegal patching will result in a Factions Rule Violation punishment and 1 Strike.

After 30 minutes pass since the last TNT shot, signifying the raid ending, you may patch however you want.

  • No Watering or Blocking Spawners or Chests
Spawners covered in water or entirely encased in blocks will have their covering removed by an Admin if reported. All spawners must be open to air at all times.

All chests in your base must be visible and accessible. This means no regen chests, and no covering in lava. Covering chests with water is allowed. Redstone toggled, or redstone-lamp style covered chests are also illegal. The faction will be warned and given 24 hours to fix the issue. If the issue is not resolved, the blocks will be removed by an Admin and a Factions Rule Violation punishment will be issued for the placer of the chests, or the faction member alerted to resolve the issue.

Actively mining, exploding, or similar to spawners while being raided is not allowed. Spawners can be freely mined while in grace or not being fired at, but once a raid is active any further spawner mining is illegal and will result in a Factions Rule Violation punishment for the offending player and 1 Strike.
  • Required Claim Gap
A faction must leave 50 chunks in a straight line from the last wall of their base, out into the wilderness, entirely void of their claims. This is to allow plenty of room for an attempting faction to be able to set up a box without random claim interruption. If a minor violation is made then staff can warn the player and remove the claim. If purposeful or the warning is ignored, a Factions Rule Violation punishment will be issued for the person who claimed.

All rules stated in this document are subject to change at any time.
Any initial incident resulting in a rule change will not be punished for, unless severe.

Raiding

  • No Illegal Cannons
For reference, all entities are removed above 255 and the current TNT limit is 10000 TNT/Sand per tick. Any cannons shooting more than that amount will not work, and any cannon firing above height limit will not work. The maximum number of walls allowed on any cannon box is 20. Any additional walls will be removed by an admin if reported.

A cannon must only destroy 1 separated watered wall per shot. Regular/rev nukes, pseudo-nukes, and AP’s are allowed. Examples of disallowed cannons are horizontal nukes/pseudos, 2 wall oneshots, left/right-shooters, mid-airs and other such type cannons. Factions using an illegal cannon above will be issued 1 Strike.

Only one cannon is allowed per raid party firing at a time. Raid parties include anyone communicating towards the common goal of raiding the base. 30 minutes must pass before firing a new or different cannon on the same faction. This includes different cannons in the same box. Counter cannons to defend a main cannon are allowed to be used, however, also fall under this rule. Essentially, think of it as allowing one main cannon and one counter cannon at a time. Firing of a cannon will qualify that cannon as your active cannon. Offending factions will be issued 1 Strike.

Cannons may not be fired any faster than once every 3 seconds. Video evidence of a clock or firing speed is required to punish for this. Offending factions will be issued 1 Strike.

A raid is active if a viable cannon has been used to destroy the first claimed wall of a factions base or if by other legitimate means a raiding party has got inside the base and is currently raiding / cegging within. The raid remains active until 30 mins after the last shot is fired or 30 mins after all of the raiding party have left the inside of the base.

A cannon with relative potential of breaching its target. (E.g. A 420 cannot breach a full buffer so does not trigger a timer.) The active cannon status applies to both a counter and raiding cannon. This is judged by staff working directly with known factions experienced staff.

  • No Neutral or Truce Raid Parties
You may not raid a faction with any help from another faction. Raiding party members must be invited into your faction to participate. All factions involved found violating this rule will be issued 1 Strike.

  • No Raid Leeching
Any faction not part of the initial raiding party or faction being raided is not allowed to attempt to defend, interrupt, or otherwise interfere with the raid in progress. This includes truced factions, they are not allowed to join or help defending a base.

Players will be issued a warning to leave, and then punished for Factions Rule Violation. 1 Strike can be issued to the leeching faction if a majority of the members attempt to interfere.

  • One Raid Party at a Time
Only one raid party can attempt to raid a faction at a time. 30 minutes must pass after a raid party has attempted a base before a new raid party can begin their attempt. Factions attempting to raid before this passes will be issued 1 Strike. Video evidence of the first party stopping and the next party starting is required to punish for this.

  • Raid Claims Required
You must use a raid claim for your cannon, box and walls when attempting a base with a full buffer. Any raid with an unclaimed cannon, or in permanent claims is an illegal raid. This removes confusion if there is a build up of boxes/ claims in a factions buffers. It is okay to use perm claims to claim your cannon’s adjustment. Claiming the main cannon with permanent claims will result in the faction being issued 1 Strike.

Senior Moderators are allowed to remove any permanent claim, within 50 chunks of the walls of the requesting faction, that either serve no purpose or are leftovers from a cannon box, as long as the claims are 24 hours old. There will be no punishment issued for the owner of the removed permanent claims.

You cannot have more than one setup of raid claims on a single side of the base. While two sections of raid claims are allowed, if on the same base they must be on different sides. Offending factions will be issued 1 Strike.

All rules stated in this document are subject to change at any time.
Any initial incident resulting in a rule change will not be punished for, unless severe.

Other Clarification
  • Unclaim Requests
Any player can request a Sr. Mod+ remove a random claim/set of claims in the buffer of a faction they are attempting or their own buffer, provided the claim is within 50 chunks of the factions last wall, is over 24 hours old, and does not have a reasonable use (e.g solo players base, adjust of another attempting fac etc.).

  • Severe Ban Strikes
For every 3 Severe Bans (30d+) a faction receives, they will be given 1 Strike.

Players can use the Reports section of the forums to report Strike offences if necessary and not caught by staff. Obviously, these reports must be backed up with valid proof and the reports will be under the SrMod's discretion.

Severe offences which are used to directly benefit the faction (scripting, for example) may result in a strike at the SrMod's discretion, regardless of their ban length.

  • Strike Punishments
Once a faction has 7 reviewed and legitimate strikes in a season, they will be forcefully Disbanded by an Admin or management. All known F-top value will be removed. The players from that faction are allowed to continue to play (provided they are not banned), with other factions or create a new faction, however they must not transfer any value over from their previous faction. Factions created to intentionally bypass the disband either before or after it occurs, may be disbanded again or given a further strike if Sr. Staff have reasonable belief of this being done so.

  • Bug Report Rewards
There may be a reward for players who assist in reporting bugs. Depending on the severity of a bug (e.g. A dupe method, glitching method, plugin exploit), it may be more appropriate to message a Developer directly to prevent further exploitation. Abusing a bug even if you have reported it is not acceptable and will result in a punishment. Make sure to seek permission from staff before you try to recreate the bug for evidence/ demonstration purposes.

Generally, the reward for bug reports would be free premium crates on the server, although this is entirely under discretion of management. A reward for reporting such bugs is not guaranteed.

All rules stated in this document are subject to change at any time.
Any initial incident resulting in a rule change will not be punished for, unless severe.
