I think because of the little use of it being there, idk for sure because I don't necessarily pvp and I didn't last season so

Normally the thorns book goes away if you move it around in your inventory. At least, for me it does. And then it’ll say something along the lines of “This item is not allowed!” in chat.

Even so, it’d be best to remove thorns from the types of books one can get from /enchants anyway.

They disabled the enchant, it doesn't work even if it's on your armour.
